Today, my brother and I were watching Season Five of 24. Sean Astin plays a fairly prominent role in the season, which means I naturally need to punctuate every other sentence with "Mr. Frodo" and reference Lord of the Rings scenes every five minutes. (Truthfully, I do a lot of that anyway.) Sean's character has a sister who is a junkie / drunkard / anorexic loser, and after a particularly tragic family moment between the two of them, my brother paused the show.
Adam: Thank you for not being a junkie of a sister.
Me: Umm, you're welcome.
Me: Thank you for not being a junkie of a brother?
Adam: No prob. Or a fat hobbit.
Me: That too.
Me: Well actually . . .
Me: If you were Sean Astin, you would most likely know the whereabouts of Elijah Wood right now, which is information I would like to have. It would be very valuable "intel" to me.
And at that point, my brother rolled his eyes and remembered that I'm a pretty annoying sister even without any drug addictions.

So I am not the only one who watches that show thinking of Lord of the Rings? Good to know. Good to know. Although I'd much rather take Merry or Pippin, but that's me. I'm all about the hobbits that got high in the forest with trees. Heh.

You've made quick work through 24! Enjoy this season - It's by far their best. And it certainly won't slow down until the final seconds tick off the clock.

Ok, so first off, I totally thought that Michael up there was me. I was like "What? I didn't leave that comment!"
Anyway, I would totally say "Mr. Frodo" if I was watching that show. The first time I watched Master and Commander, I did a similar thing every time I saw Billy Boyd. Except, I kept it to myself.

I met Sean Astin a month ago and it took a lot of effort not to randomly shout out "Mr. Frodo!" (or try to hug him) every few minutes.

I just finished Season 6 today-yes, I am WAY behind, and I want to be Mrs. Jack Bauer.
In Season 5 was that the one when Edgar died? I think so. Anyway, THAT was not a pretty day at my house. I seriously thought I was going to need therapy.

Haha... Elijah Wood... I know his grandma! She's a peppery lady who goes to my church. She and my mother are buds! LOL
