You've Got a Friend in Me

Comments (15)

Tomorrow, I'm meeting my two elementary school best friends for lunch. Tami and I will be wearing our Best Friends Forever necklaces. Sarah would be wearing hers, but she apparently doesn't have it anymore. I hope there's a really good explanation for that. "I'm not a pack rat...?" just won't cut it this time. After all, without her necklace, we're just Friends Forever.

What might make the event an even crazier whirlwind of childhood nostalgia? Meeting at the restaurant where our friend Andrea works now. The four of us — Sarah, Tami, Andrea, Rachel — made up the STAR Club, which had an official newsletter and everything. Guess which dork published that?

Yeah.

So anyway, I'm hoping to be able to bring you some awesome before-and-after pictures tomorrow. Meanwhile, go check out the sites of the last ten bloggers to comment here:

P.S. I love that the womenfolk all sign their comments with their first names, but the boys are all like, "We are unique! Look! Nicknames and crazy capitalization! Watch out ...ladies."

Look whose talking, "Rachelskirts". haha. It's ok, we know you wish you were one of the boys.

My capitalization is perfectly normal, by the way.

Yourmomization, however, is not.

Jace of Fuse!

Jace of Fuse!

My name also has supernaturally cool punctuation built right in!

Nickname what? This is my name!

Look! I signed this comment with my first name! :-P Hahaha...just to prove that there are some guys out here who can be a little more transparent...by the way, I can't remember where I stumbled across your place, here, but I love it.

gRegor: I love nicknames and crazy capitalization! I just think it was funny how that panned out!

Jace of Fuse!: I also love the built-in punctuation! Again, I was just amused!

Avitable: It's not your first name, though. (I did specifically mention that the ladies used their first names.) In a way, running around using your last name is somewhat akin to using a nickname. In my world. Maybe I'm crazy. I could edit the entry with a "P.P.S. OH RIGHT, AND LAST NAMES," if that would make you feel better.

Jeff: Awesome! Way to break the trend. :) Glad you stopped by! Seeing your blog's URL made me tear up a little, since I put in so many years with Diaryland. Good times... Anyway, I hope to have a lot of time this weekend for blog-reading, and I'm putting yours on my list, for sure!

I just like being cryptic!

Next time when you blog, I'm commenting rather than talking about it over IM. Being personal apparently doesn't work. =P

My blog isn't anything special anyway. I fail to give it love with anything lovable. heh

I'm a lawyer, remember? Semantics are the name of the game.

:D

Thursday's Child: Nothing wrong with rockin' the cryptic side!

Jwewmiah: There's nothing wrong with being personal, either. Although, to be honest, half the fun of a blog is the discussion stirred up in the comments. Clearly, the discussion this morning is hilariously defensive.

Avitable: Bring it on! (And don't you dare tell me "It's already been broughten!" or whatever.)

Your mom is hilariously defensive.

This is awesome. haha

Jamie Lovely

I changed it up a bit just for this comment! haha

Actually Jamie Lovely is what shows up on Blogger blogs when I comment so I'm kind of original when it comes to blogger but evidently not wordpress!

gRegor: Your mom's leg hair is hilariously defensive. (Yes, that is the official next step in responding to a "your mom" attack.)

Jwewmiah: Agreed. :)

Jamie Lovely: I'm assuming that if Movable Type actually remembered personal info like it should, people would be more inclined to leave their full name or site name. Maybe not. I lucked out with my nickname being fairly original and relatively short, so I don't often think about it when leaving a comment. Someone with more time on his or her hands should do a study on this. :)

I'm not on the list, because I don't have a blog, because MT is a biotch. And I have a nickname because I am awesome. Le Ren.

I was totally going to say that, too. "Not Another Teen Movie" is one of my favorites.
