Small, Teensy NaBloPoMo Rant

Comments (7)

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to rant for a very small portion of time about the difficulties of volunteering to do something awesome.

Although I'm a huge fan of this whole NaBloPoMo thing, I'm seeing too late that it has fallen at the worst possible time of the year for me. For at least four days this month, if not more, I will be without internet access due to the two vacations I have planned. Two of my best friends suddenly have more time to talk on the phone at night, so I've been glued to my Bluetooth headset from 6pm 'til 2am (or as late as 5am!) every night for a week already. Also, thanks to the vacations, I'll have to be doing twice the amount of work at the office in order to keep things running smoothly while I'm away.

Tomorrow, I'm totally writing up a bunch of entries and scheduling them to be published throughout the month.

Yeah right.

Wow. You do know I'm so totally never going to let you forget it if you somehow miss a day.

I'm with Jace. I mean, hey, you forced me to do it, remember?

But, I do wish you good luck getting all caught up and ahead and such.

Jace of Fuse! - Same goes for you, buddy! I've got my eye on you. *squinty glare*

Thursday's Child - Yeah, yeah. Haha. Mean old Rachel, forcing Tyler to do awesome things. Just kidding. :) Good luck to you, too, oh weekend traveler and huge brain sufferer. I'm sure this can't be easy for you, either.

Well then, looks like I'll have to take a few entries from Tyler's list, namely: 1. Participate in NaBloPoMo, 2. Blog more often (see #1.), and 3. comment on every one of your blog posts. Well, number 3 is a work in progress. Oh, and here's a number 4: Watch my spelling, punctuation, and grammar. That's g-r-a-m-m-A-r. Thank you, Rachelskirts, for inspiring us all to more awesome things.

Gilligan - Aww, well I'm glad I could (forcefully) inspire y'all to write more often and whatnot. Blogging is something I really like, so I tend to hope that other people will like it, too. :)

A couple times this month I've written a handful of entries and scheduled them to post. For example, I don't have to write another post until Dec 2 and haven't written since yesterday. Is that cheating? Maybe. But for those of us who are busy and have lives... I don't think so!

The challenge is remembering when your stash of posts expire!

Kate - I'm impressed! I kept meaning to do that, but I have trouble enough coming up with inspiration for one post a day, especially when I'm writing at eleven o'clock at night. My vacations would have been just a smidge more restful had I been able to write and pre-schedule entries. That whole "scramble and post an entry from the cell phone at 11:30pm" thing just didn't help me relax very well.

Props to you for pulling that off, though! I envy your skills.
